On Thursday, the German parliament overwhelmingly rejected a bill that would mandate Covid vaccination for German citizens by a vote of 378-296, according to CEO of Becker News, Kyle Becker. “The Covid vaccine mandate is DEAD in Germany,” he added on Twitter.
Additionally, Becker revealed the bill would have required those over the age of 60 to present proof of “triple” vaccination against the coronavirus by October 1 and that people between the ages of 18 and 59 would have been required to have a consultation with medical professionals to discuss receiving the Covid vaccine.
Interestingly, The Guardian reported that this legislative move to kill the Covid vaccine bill in Germany is seen as a humiliating political defeat for Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who was an outspoken supporter of the bill.
The victory for proponents of medical freedom is fresh, but health minister Karl Lauterbach stated on Friday that he would not rule out the possibility of reintroducing stricter coronavirus-related restrictions like masking, according to The Guardian report.
This defeat of a Covid-related mandate in Germany comes on the heels of Austria lifting its Covid restrictions following overwhelming protests for medical freedom.
Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer announced on Wednesday that the country would be axing most of its coronavirus-related restrictions after the people of Austria have relentlessly protested the tyranny of governmental overreach for months.
England finally dropped its Covid rules as well in February when Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced an end to isolation requirements and routine contact tracing. He also said England would be “moving from government restrictions to personal responsibility.”
