A newly published meta-analysis and systematic review on mask-wearing confirms what commonsense dictates, namely, they do significant harm by interfering with normal human breathing (O2 and CO2 gas exchange), and even more astounding, may be causing symptoms that are being misidentified as “Long Covid.”
Almost 3 years ago, while the world was almost universally captured by the media and government induced hysteria over, what at the time, was being billed as a Covid health emergency with potentially catastrophic fatalities, Stand for Health Freedom (501c4) stood strong as a beacon of sanity, reason and true humanitarian concern for the ways universal mask wearing (against all good evidence) would do far more harm than good to the public health, and especially that of our children.
Thankfully, our digital advocacy center and ACT NOW campaign, facilitated over 300,000 communications from citizens to their elected officials with the message that mandatory masks endanger the public’s health and liberties. Your collective impact was measurably felt.
Today, the science is beginning to break through the outright lies and globally coordinated censorship, as evidenced by a newly published systematic review with meta-analysis and comprehensive evaluation published in Frontiers on April 5th, 2023 which strongly confirms what commonsense dictates, namely, masks interfere with normal human breathing, and that this causes adverse health effects such as exhaustion:
“Masks interfered with O2-uptake and CO2-release and compromised respiratory compensation. Though evaluated wearing durations are shorter than daily/prolonged use, outcomes independently validate mask-induced exhaustion-syndrome (MIES) and down-stream physio-metabolic disfunctions.”
Moreover, the newly coined, mask-induced clinical syndrome known as MIES can create symptoms that overlap exactly with what may be misidentified as “long Covid-19.”:
“MIES can have long-term clinical consequences, especially for vulnerable groups. So far, several mask related symptoms may have been misinterpreted as long COVID-19 symptoms. In any case, the possible MIES contrasts with the WHO definition of health”
This study concluded the following:
“Face mask side-effects must be assessed (risk-benefit) against the available evidence of their effectiveness against viral transmissions. In the absence of strong empirical evidence of effectiveness, mask wearing should not be mandated let alone enforced by law.”
The conclusion of this study confirms what many of us have been saying since the topic and eventual mandate of mask wearing as a would-be preventive measure first came up three years ago, namely, that any such measure should be backed by solid evidence, and should be balanced with the risks. [Note: it is also possible that mRNA-jab induced adverse effects have been misindentified as “Long Covid” symptoms; another vitally important area of research that has yet to make it through the highly guarded, censorship prone peer-review process.]
Moreover, mask-wearing (like any other medical intervention which carries risk of harm) should be a personal decision (your body, your choice), and that in order to make an informed choice, one should have free access to all relevant information on both the risks and benefits. Depriving the public of such a thing is tantamount to a violation of informed consent, which is an egregious violation of a fundamental human right; which is exactly what was done by the ‘vast censorship enterprise’ existing between government, NGOs, academia, corporations, philanthropies and Tech Platforms, spear-headed by Stanford’s Virality Project, as recently revealed in the TwitterFiles.
